INTRODUCTION

The Children’s Tumor Foundation (CTF), the Neurofibromatosis Therapeutic Acceleration Program (NTAP), Sage Bionetworks, and SVAI are excited to announce the second Neurofibromatosis (NF) hackathon that will be held at the Google Launchpad at 543 Howard Street in San Francisco on September 13-15, 2019. This event is in concomitance with the 2019 CTF Patient Forum and NF Conference that will kickoff on September 20 until the 24. The 2019 Hackathon will focus on analyzing diverse datasets including genomic, drug screening, drug-target association, imaging, and other data for all the three conditions of NF (NF1, NF2, Schwannomatosis).

PRESENT AT NF CONFERENCE

Selected research teams from this event will have an opportunity to present their results at Children’s Tumor Foundation’s annual NF conference. CTF’s NF Conference is happening September 21 - 24, 2019 in San Francisco and is the largest annual gathering of NF researchers.

CONTINUING FOCUS

The first-ever NF2 hackathon, held in SF in June 2017, focused on a single set of genetic data (donated by Onno Faber, entrepreneur, and NF2 patient). Following in the footsteps of this event, We’re excited to expand our research collaboration focus on NF in Fall 2019.

This short documentary showcases our first NF research hackathon, featuring NF2 patient Onno Faber. This event focused on finding better treatment options using Onno’s genetic data. Over 100 machine learning experts and scientists gathered over a weekend and presented their research at the end of the 48 hour event.
